Although he’s got an updated look, everyone still recognizes Smokey the Bear, the mascot of forest fire prevention for over 70 years. He may be old, but wildfires are  becoming a growing concern, especially here in the Pacific Northwest and interior BC. Point Roberts Historical Society

As we’ve written about before, Point Roberts is chock full of history. From its discovery by Spanish explorers in the 18th century, to the first Icelandic settlers and the heyday of the fishing and canning industry, all the way up to present day, the Point is full of stories. But without a dedicated museum, Point Roberts’ residents took it upon themselves to preserve this history by forming the Point Roberts Historical Society. Continue reading

Point Roberts’ local golf club is now under new ownership, and they are planning a major investment to improve the greens and facilities. Earlier plans to revitalize the course didn’t get going, but this sale to Bald Eagle Valley Resort Holdings Inc. will get the renovations and revitalizations going, an exciting prospect for local golfers. The New Pool at Seabright Farm

As summer approaches (okay, so maybe intermittently, but it’s coming!) and the days get warmer and warmer, we’ve started to dream of a nice place to relax and maybe even cool off with a dip. So it’s great timing to have started the construction of our brand new heated pool and spa area, which will be open for use within a few months!
