One of the key features of our Seabright Farm design is the ability to add on a secondary structure, so as to make your home match your lifestyle. This can occur at time of the initial cottage construction, or several years later as families grow or finances change. We offer a range of secondary living structures, from as simple as a bunk room to a stand-alone retreat like our Super Bunkie.
The Garage/Carport/Studio Combination
The garage/studio accessory building is flexible and highly functional. The enclosed ground-floor space is complemented by a carport for cars or beach toys and a guest suite or studio above, complete with a full bath. The dormers break up the shed roof-line and add space and light. Additional storage is gained under the stairs for those garden tools! It can easily be attached to the cottage via a breezeway and thereby create a private courtyard.
Super-, Mini- and Regular Bunkie
All of our bunkies come with high post and beam style ceilings that enhance their rustic charm. Adding a Bunkie not only creates another room or two but also allows for more covered porches and breezeways, perfect for the enjoyment of Seabright’s ocean breezes and ample sunlight. Breezeways can be partially enclosed to stop the wind or left open on two sides. They function as outdoor dining areas, retreats around a wood burning or propane fireplace, or simply a way to enjoy the outdoors all year round.
The Super Bunkie is the ultimate retreat or guest space. At almost 600 sq. ft. it has a living room complete with a propane fireplace, a galley kitchen, full bathroom, storage closet and large bedroom with French doors. Add a deck and this is a fully functional cottage on its own! This structure is also ideal for families who require additional master bedrooms or for families buying a lot together but wishing to have some separate living areas.
The Mini Bunkie is a simple structure without plumbing, but it will easily sleep up to four in bunk beds in its 10′ by 12′ area. The heightened version adds in a half-loft for some storage space. All-in-all a perfect spot for kids.
The Coastal Bunkie is 330 sq. ft. space with a separate bedroom area and full bath. If you don’t need the bedroom function then make the room into a library, office or artist’s studio … and add a fireplace for wet weather warmth.
This a very simple structure and a charming and functional addition to a rural beachfront home. It could have any of a number of roof lines (flat, hip or gable) and varying the wall finish and colors can give it character. The built-in storage features helps screen off the car and give you lots of space for tools.
